The Staging Guy is a proud sponsor of Austin Elite Rugby (AER), Austin’s Major League Rugby professional team. Last night was the season opener against the Houston Sabercats. This year the season began in late January (versus late June in 2018), and is twice as long as last season (their inaugural season). The venue moved to Dell Diamond and we are not staging the VIP lounge, since Dell Diamond has a dedicated lounge area (the Intel Lounge).
Our company does, however, provide the field-side lounge area for Austin Elite Rugby home games. Lucky winners are able to watch the game up close. Last night’s drizzly weather was not ideal conditions for the field-side lounge, but the fans endured the elements to enjoy the match.
Unfortunately, AER came in 2 points shy of winning the match. The team put up a great fight. We are excited to support/attend the entire set of home games this season!
This is the Austin Elite Rugby team’s second season here in Austin…and the fan base is building quickly. Austin Elite Rugby not only plays game day matches, they host several other events with local schools working to get more youth involved in rugby. The city of Round Rock is incredibly welcoming to the team.
